Jose Baez, defense attorney for accused murderer Casey Anthony, has assembled an all-star defense team while awaiting the DNA results from the FBI’s lab in Quantico, Va.. Judge Strickland, during an emergency court hearing Friday after finding what may be the remains of Caylee Marie Anthony, denied motions to have any of Baez team present to examine evidence at this time as they are in the third day of collecting evidence from the crime scene.
George and Cindy Anthony have been allowed to return to their home on Hopespring Dr.
Some media reports include the skull having been wrapped with duct tape while others report duct tape was over the mouth of the skull. The name of the meter reader that made the discovery has not been released. (See Dalia’s Blog for video clips)
Much examination of the duct tape and the condition of the remains will be needed for the defense to prepare for the March trial date, at which time the death penalty could be placed on the table once more. If this occurs, perhaps Terrence Lenamon will be the lead defense attorney and Baez will assist as he doesn’t have enough expertise to try a death penalty case under Fla. law.

Lawrence Kobilinsky , and others such as Dr. Werner Spitz, known for the OJ Simpson and the JonBenet Ramsey case; Kathy Reichs, an anthropologist and New York Times bestselling mystery writer; Nebraska’s entomologist Tim Huntington may be brought on board at a later date.
Mark NeJame, former attorney for George and Cindy Anthony expressed his opinions that he had a feeling that the skeletal remains belonged to Caylee Anthony. He asked news reporters to be respectful of the Anthony’s right to grieve in private and endorsed their new attorney, Brad Conway.
Todd Black, spokesman for law firm of Jose Baez has said,“‘If this is Caylee Anthony, that doesn’t mean Casey Anthony did anything to that child;that doesn’t determine who or what caused the child’s death.”’source

Thanks for the update. Who is paying for the “experts”? Funny that if the prosecution called these folks they could be paid to testify for them. I have little respect for the professional testimony from courthouse “whores”. I hope the general population realizes that these people will say what is necessary to stir doubt in the jurors minds, and if they were being paid by the prosecution they would be relying completely on the scientific proof to make sure the jury understood the guilt of Casey.
I doubt the so-called experts keep much money for courtroom testimony…they probably profit from TV and book deal…IMO.
It seems to be an education process instead of a fact finding mission, with each expert tilting sharply to his/her point of view.
They all cannot write books. The drs get upwards of 2500 per day whether they testify or not. They also get their trips paid for and other expenses, assistants and so on . I heard that they may have to video record some of these Pros testimony because they cannot sit in Orlando waiting to testify. Dr Lee is incredibly expensive and previously had no interest in a book. He made a mint from the OJ and other trials. Dr. Purper did not rake it in as he was the coroner in the Anna Nicole Smith autopsy. He now has regular gigs on HLN and other news shows. Nontheless they are paid and who is paying for them?
Their job is to screw with the jury to create reasonable doubt. It will be interesting to see who finally ends up on the prosecution team. They will bar no expense to make sure they get the next tier of pros.
Well, norma…I guess the person paying for them would have to be Caylee; she paid with her life!
Everyone else will pocket the green stuff and circulate petitions to harass the family some more…even without presentation of all the facts.
Orlando ain’t LA. I predict these yankee carpetbaggers on the defense team, won’t set well with the law and order citizens of Orlando, and from whom the jury pool will be selected. Unfortunately for the defense, they will not be able to RENT-A-JURY from Los Angeles.
I don’t know how these people will sleep at night with a clear concious that they have done the right thing in court that day. They are specifically brought in to shroud the evidence with doubt (even if there is no doubt). It is sad that it seems to be more important to “win” a case & get someone off than it is to bring justice to an innocent victim. Notoriety, money, book deals, is that what it comes down to?
Thank goodness this case has much more to it than its strong forensic evidence to carry it thru to conviction.

Do not forget that these people see this kind of stuff for lack of a better word all the time. There are more Caylee’s than there are dream teams. That is why we, the people of FL who are most likelly paying for the trial, stay on top of this case. Know as much as you can and write to the judge, prosecutor

Write to the judge and the prosecutors office as well as the state attny general’s office if and when you see or hear half truths or know and remember an interview by the family where they said. This is a great topic I hope that all of you get a gk
hope we all get an idea of how others think and that sometimes cases like this are seen differently. I found it interesting how many sympathizers there are out there and how many people take the media so seriously. We are fortunate to live where we are free to have these blogs.

I wouldn’t take the media that I witnessed covering the case too seriously…maybe one or two get it;most act as prepubescent teenagers looking to start a riot or pick a fight.
I won’t be writing anyone…that’s why I have a blog…the case is still being investigated. For me, or anyone else for that matter, to swamp the prosecutors, police, or anyone else working on the case at this time with a lot of email would be counter-productive; costing much more than anything Casey could have possibly done.
The ignorant protesters cost that county much more than Casey…they knew she’d be back in jail anyway and she wasn’t going anywhere…The media whipped up a frenzy, and, apparently the education system sucks in that area…why else get out in public and make an azz of one’s self?
They don’t need my input because that is why they have hired and trained people…voting on the situation will not change the guidelines already set down as demanded by their job specifications…at least not at this current time and not online voting either.
I have heard some young people (20-30 yrs) use chlorophorm like a date rape drug. IF Casey’s X-boyfriend had the web page advertizing chlorophorm, that doesn’t mean HE had anything to do with Caylee’s murder. Possibly Casey and her friends used it, THEN that gave Casey an idea to use it to get rid of her baby.

No death penalty against Casey. Whoa whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, Nancy Grace has already said that Casey would be facing the death penalty. Could the courts have screwed things up, or is it just that Nancy is all screwed up and is proven to be wrong yet again? Hummmmm, good question, read the CNN transcripts. The prosecution case continues to crumble. How sad.
